ManpowerGroup Claims Customer Service Agent in Uniondale, New York

All these terms make up our Claims Customer Service Agent. The Agent serves as initial contact for claim reporting. The incumbent will be responsible for guiding the caller to the appropriate party based on their need and the relevant policy or claim. This position will consist of handling heavy phones regarding liability and setting up auto claims.

The client is seeking candidates that can, within reason, hit the ground running. The ideal candidate will have experience working for an insurance carrier handling inbound call. This role is also responsible for assisting where needed with training and special projects.

This job offers you:

  • Business hours: Monday-Friday, 8 Hours per day, 8:30-6:30

  • Competitive wage - TBD

  • Remote/Full-Time Opportunity

  • Training is paid for and consists of a 4-week IN-OFFICE training. The training will be held at the Uniondale, NY office. MUST live locally to drive for training. Once training is complete, this will be fully work from home / remote position.

  • The client will supply work from home equipment.

Minimum Skills and Competencies:

  • Bring your high school diploma or GED equivalent education.

  • 1-2 years of related (auto property/material damage claim) experience would be preferred.

Functional Skills:

  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is a HUGE plus!

  • Experience in customer service or call center with the ability to empathize with the customer.

  • Ability to multi-task (i.e. talking and typing simultaneously) in a fast-paced environment

  • Ability to navigate through multiple systems with speed and accuracy

  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and basic internet skills.

  • Excellent level of communication skills (both written and verbal).

  • Possess a high degree of initiative, mature judgment and discretion.

You are expected to:

  • Communicates effectively with internal and external customers.

  • Identifies the customer’s need and responds appropriately and efficiently with a sense of urgency.

  • Follow established guidelines specific to each claim report or inquiry.

  • Locates, confirms, and documents appropriate information, which may involve multiple systems.

  • Remains current on constant process updates and technology used within the company.

  • May utilize multiple communication channels including but not limited to telephone, fax, email, or online chat, to assist the client.

  • Acts as a mentor and assists with training as needed.

  • May assist with special projects.
