Global Comms and Marketing Project Manager - Contractor

Location: Boise or San Jose

As a Global Comms and Marketing Project Manager, you will oversee a variety of programs and projects across the organization, ensuring consistency and efficiency from inception to completion. Working closely with the Global Communication & Marketing (GCM) team, you will coordinate integrated workstreams, assess risks, manage resources, and maintain task alignment using project management tools.

In addition to project management, you will collaborate with the Manager of Editorial and Tools Strategy to trial process improvements, enhance output quality, and establish consistent project management practices. This role demands strong organizational skills, initiative, and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously. The ideal candidate will possess strategic acumen, demonstrated success in leading high-level program initiatives, and a track record of delivering complex projects on schedule.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive program and project execution by:

  • Aligning on project scope, resources, and risk and quality management methods.

  • Partnering with stakeholders to define key planning milestones and deliverables.

  • Monitoring scope, status, resourcing, quality, and risk continuously.

  • Navigating ambiguity and overcoming obstacles to ensure timely delivery of quality work.

  • Managing multiple projects concurrently using GCM's project management tool, Workfront.

  • Scheduling stakeholder meetings and facilitating effective communication.

  • Managing deadlines and ensuring timely completion of assigned tasks.

  • Generating program and project reports for stakeholders.

  • Identifying requirements for cross-functional teams and external vendors.

  • Applying critical thinking and project management skills to anticipate risks and resolve issues early.

  • Cultivating relationships with stakeholders and maintaining reliability as a project leader.

  • Contributing to the governance and enhancement of project management tools.

  • Understanding the company and GCM processes related to third-party resources, like vendors and agencies.

  • Implementing process changes and updating project management tools accordingly.

  • Educating and supporting new project managers as needed.

  • Upholding quality standards and contributing to organization-wide process documentation.

  • Making recommendations to enhance consistency and efficiency across future programs and projects.

  • Developing protocols for assessing program and project performance and quality.

Desired Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Teams, SharePoint, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, Word).

  • Ability to interpret information, synthesize requests, and take decisive action.

  • Strong project management skills with meticulous attention to detail.

  • Effective cross-functional communication, diplomacy, and relationship-building abilities.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with diverse management levels and stakeholders.

  • Proactive in acquiring information to resolve gaps.

  • Agile decision-making with comfort in iterative approaches.

  • Flexibility and adaptability in evolving departmental processes.

  • Commitment to advocating for diversity and inclusion.

  • Focus on process management and quality assurance.

Education/Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience in project or program management.

  • Proficiency with project management tools like WorkFront; experience with Monday.com, Asana, etc., is advantageous.

  • Professional certification in program or project management (PMP, PRINCE2) preferred.

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Business, Marketing, Communication, or related fields.

  • Knowledge of change management principles and marketing operations.

  • Exceptional leadership, time management, facilitation, and organizational skills.
