We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Programmer with extensive experience in IBM System Z operating systems and related products. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of maintaining and troubleshooting mainframe operating systems, with the ability to work independently and as part of a larger team in a dynamic and complex environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain and triage mainframe operating systems and related products.
Work independently and collaboratively within large, multi-environment settings.
Configure and manage SMP/E, including ordering and installing software.
Perform Assembler, SAS, and Cobol programming to mine and analyze SMF and MICS data.
Utilize Chpid Mapping Tool to map Chipids for server installations.
Configure servers and devices using HCD and manage server operations through HMC.
Configure HMC roles and security, and monitor server operations, including IPL profiles.
Analyze svcdump, logrec diagnostic data, and develop/maintain system exits and utilities.
Use Debug Tool, EREP, GTF, IPCS, Omegamon, RMF, SLIP, and SPLUNK to capture and analyze diagnostic data and system performance.
Develop software security using RACF and Vanguard Tools.
Configure and install client/server software for Linux and Windows.
Utilize z/OSMF to install software release upgrades and build software maintenance using workflows.
Engage with IBMLINK to order software, create problem tickets, and research software issues.
Required Skills:
SMP/E: Configure SMP/E, order and install software.
Programming Languages: Assembler, SAS, Cobol, JAVA, REXX.
Diagnostic Tools: Analyze svcdump, logrec, and capture diagnostic data using Debug Tool, EREP, GTF, IPCS, Omegamon, RMF, SLIP, and SPLUNK.
Server and Device Configuration: HCD and HMC for server and device configuration.
Performance Analysis: Analyze system configuration and performance.
Software Security: Develop and analyze software security using RACF and Vanguard Tools.
Operating Systems: Install and configure client/server software for Linux and Windows.
z/OSMF: Install software release upgrades and build software maintenance.
IBMLINK: Order software, create problem tickets, research and fix software issues.
Sysplex Configuration: Monoplex, parallel sysplex configuration, and configure Coupling Facility policies.
