UX Researcher - AI Experiences

Contract Duration: 18 Months

Location: Hybrid - would like someone in Seattle for potential onsite brainstorming sessions.

Compensation: $50 per hour

What You'll Do:

  • Conduct generative and evaluative research to understand user needs and enhance product design.

  • Map out user flows and journeys, validate concepts and designs, and synthesize insights to drive intelligent feature development.

  • Document and present research findings and recommendations to stakeholders.

  • Collaborate closely with designers, product managers, data scientists, and engineers to create delightful product experiences.

  • Contribute to foundational research projects that influence multiple product areas, helping to build user trust and measure design success for AI features.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • Experience: 2-4 years of product design research experience with diverse methodologies such as usability studies, field studies, in-depth interviews, heuristic evaluations, and surveys.

  • Education: MA/MS in Experimental Psychology, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, or related field, or significant industry experience.

  • Skills: Strong presentation, communication, and collaboration skills; ability to analyze research data and present actionable insights clearly; comfort with challenging research questions and ambiguous situations.

  • Desire to Learn: While experience in gen-AI UX research is a plus, a strong desire to learn about AI and quickly ramp up on technical aspects and user bases is essential.

Performance Indicators:

  • Quality and number of projects and reports produced.

  • Positive feedback from sponsors, team members, and stakeholders.

  • Engagement and adaptability, even in a remote work setting.
