ManpowerGroup Project Manager, Data Center in Redmond, Washington

Our Fortune 500 client is seeking a Project Manager with Data Center Experience to join their team. The ideal candidate will have proven PM experience, reporting experience and working to pull telemetry data out of data centers and pushing it to the cloud which will align successfully in the organization.

18 month contract

$60/hour

Purpose of the Team: The purpose of this team is to handle getting telemetry data out of data centers and pushing it into the cloud. This work is all internal, primarily serving Azure as their internal customer, who makes business decisions based on the data provided. The project for which they are hiring a temporary vendor is slightly out of their normal team scope but still closely related, requiring a PM role for project management, including basic reporting, updates, and coordination.

Key projects : This role will contribute to they need a PM role to manage the project, including basic reporting, updates, and coordination.

Typical task breakdown and operating rhythm : The role will consist of day-to-day responsibilities for the project manager role as including responding to emails, attending project meetings, receiving updates from peer teams, coordinating meetings with different resources, sending out weekly status reports, and engaging in project planning and forecasting.

Best vs. Average : The ideal resume would contain familiar with data centers.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Develops, tracks and manages project budget, project plans, timelines and scope

  • Manage project resources including procuring project staff, developing, motivating, coaching and advising

  • Partner closely with other members of functional project teams to define business requirements

  • Lead teams of developers in the delivery of high-quality software solutions that meet business needs

  • Define test plans and ensure that products are defect free before User Acceptance Testing

  • Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures

  • Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses

  • Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized

  • Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in a technical field such as computer science, computer engineering or related field required. MBA or other related advanced degree preferred.

  • PMP or PMI certification

  • 5-7 years experience

  • Proven project management experience

  • People management and team building skills

  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible/ adaptable in exercising judgment in a changing environment and to manage competing priorities

  • Proven ability to learn business processes quickly and to work well with business partners at different levels within the organization

  • Strong ability to assess risk and apply management principles to technology applications/products and business functions

  • Experience delivering technology and business application solutions in a large-scale, multi-platform systems environment
