Our client, a Fortune 30 retailer, is seeking a Backend Developer to join their team. As a Backend Developer, you will be part of a team working to retrieve, modify, and move data from one system to another. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment, which will align successfully in the organization.

What’s the Job?
This Software Engineer will join an experienced team focusing on migrating legacy data feeds of merchandising platforms to modern domain architecture, by way of automating processes. This resource will aid in building services and orchestrated views of the client’s bulk interfaces which enable consumers of the data to self-serve. This resource will also collaborate with the Tech Lead, team, architects & product managers to deliver on the product roadmap.
Top skills: Python or Java, experience with data access patterns, Databricks
What’s Needed?
3-5 years of experience backend programming languages like Java or Python
A solid understanding and appreciation for Agile tools, processes, and methodology – SDLC, Jira, Github, Code Reviews, etc.
Experience working with Databricks, Azure Datalake, Azure Event Hub, and other Azure services.
Experience in messaging architectures & development – Kafka or equivalent.
*Experience working with data access patterns and schemas to retrieve, modify, and move data from one system to another.
Proven Experience in building RESTful APIs and a deep understanding of REST principles.
Proven Experience working with Docker or similar technologies, GIT, CI/CD and writing unit/integration tests.
Strong analytical problem-solving skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills
Self-starter with strong initiative, quality deliverable and ability to work under pressure.
Business-minded approach to time, costs, and deadlines
Demonstrated ability to work well within a team environment.
