Job Offer: Lab Technician
Position Overview: Join our team as a Test Technician I in the Air System Components (ASC) R&D Lab at our Plano, TX location. Reporting to the Lab Manager, you will play a pivotal role in testing and modifying heating, ventilation, and air distribution equipment for the light commercial markets. This is an opportunity to work in a climate-controlled HVAC laboratory environment, conducting essential testing and analysis to ensure product reliability and performance.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and install test units to simulate field conditions or industry standards.
Set up test facilities and connect data acquisition instruments as per test requirements.
Analyze test data, make necessary modifications to test units based on analysis.
Utilize computer software for facility operation, testing, data collection, and report writing.
Maintain cleanliness and safety in the work area, initiate 5S projects.
Follow, review, and occasionally write work instructions.
Requirements:
Vocational school training in HVAC, 2-year Associate degree, or equivalent experience.
3 years of service or test technician experience, preferably in the HVAC industry.
Proficiency in reading wiring diagrams, modifying unit wiring, instrumentation, and electromechanical troubleshooting.
Ability to interpret agency standards and analyze data for decision-making.
Physical capability to lift equipment and parts.
Availability for 1st shift (8am-5pm) work schedule.
Strong self-motivation, integrity, and organizational skills.
Effective communication skills and ability to collaborate within a team.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email programs.
Strong interpersonal skills and sound decision-making ability.
