  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering

  • 3 plus years automotive or manufacturing related experience

  • "Out-of-the-Box" Thinker

  • AutoCAD

  • Process driven

  • Ability to handle several projects at once

  • Proficient in Microsoft (PowerPoint, Word, Excel)

  • 3+ years of manufacturing experience


  • Automotive Interiors experience

  • Experience working in manufacturing assembly environment


Uses engineering principles to design, procure, install and validate manufacturing processes. Analyzes and plans for labor utilization, equipment requirements, workflow, manufacturing space requirements and layout for maximum efficiency. Interfaces with the development team from concept through start of production to ensure the successful launch of new products.


  • Development of manufacturing processes by completing detailed engineering analysis of:

  • Design for assembly

  • Logistics and contingency planning

  • Process flow

  • Process labor planning & line balance

  • Material flow planning

  • Plant layout

  • Facilities requirement definition

  • Build manifest definition

  • Shop floor controls systems

  • Ergonomic analysis

  • Workstation planning

  • Andon/Plant visual management

  • Process failure mode and effect analysis

  • Production equipment & tooling specification, purchase and acceptance

  • Validation of manufacturing process to meet labor targets, production output and quality standards

  • Actively participates in Health/Safety/Environmental investigations and the 8D process in order to develop root cause analysis for problem resolution as required.

  • Reporting accidents, occupational illnesses, and HSE&E emergencies, and inform supervisor of known HSE&E conditions which could adversely affect other team members, assets or to the public.

  • Ensures compliance with all safety procedures and ensures safe working procedures in assigned production areas.

  • Assist Engineering Manager with plant and system changes.

  • Have a working knowledge of the main computer system for the offices, production, and the plant.

  • Evaluate and support opportunities for continuous improvement within the plant in terms of production/labor efficiency, quality, 5s, ergonomics, health/safety, and environmental issues.

  • Specification, installation, and implementation of plant machinery, tooling, and equipment.

  • Provide engineering assistance for customer related issues.

  • Facilitate employee involvement activities (operator training on new equipment, participation in 8-D meetings, and participation in ergonomics meetings).

  • Evaluate and oversee equipment modifications and improvements.

  • Develop assembly aids and fixtures.

  • Provide production run during the buy-off of the new equipment.

  • Direct workers in electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic maintenance and repair of machinery and equipment. Provide engineering assistance in quality problem solving activities.

  • Interpret company policies to workers and enforce safety regulations.

  • Assist in setting and adhering to budgets and requirements.

  • Management of contracted work within the plant when needed.

  • Update and maintain plant layout.

  • Complete cycle time studies, line balancing and manning recommendations at the specified frequency.

  • Support trial builds for VA/VE's, engineering changes, and plant launch activity.

  • Must be willing to abide by the company hand book in regards to following safety rules and job rotations.

  • Must be willing to report unsafe conditions, reporting unsafe acts, participating in safety/ergo committees, participating in safety Kazan events, participating in blue sky initiatives, participating in safety audits, and participating in safety observation feedback events.

  • Assist the plant in achieving safety goals and achieving and maintaining JCMS objectives.
