Attention Medical Professionals and/or individuals looking to get into the Medical Field! Manpower is NOW HIRING Medical Patient Safety Attendant to join our growing agency team in Huntington, WV with pay rates up to $15.65/hour (local rate)! Manpower has day and night shifts available.
What is a Patient Safety Attendant?
Patient safety attendants are compassionate and attentive healthcare workers who watch over behavioral health patients to ensure their safety. A patient safety attendants job is to observe patients in a hospital and help monitor patient conditions. Patient safety attendants can be seated in a patient room or walk with patients while they are moving throughout the medical facility. A patient safety attendant may be asked to help complete a variety of checklist tasks while observing patients. Patient safety attendants need to be attentive, observant, and have excellent interpersonal skills.
Patient Safety Attendant Responsibilities:
Patient observation & mobile Shadowing
Must be able to stand, sit or walk for extended periods of time.
Must remain in close contact with patient to ensure safety (arms distance away)
Interact routinely with patients and hospital care team
Daily monitoring with Patients and hospital care team
Assisting with unexpected and emergency situations (proper training will be provided)
Assisting with hourly rounding, monitoring, documentation, distributing meals and/or patient safety checks
Providing emotional support and companionship to patients
Keeping patient information confidential
Adhering to hospital policies and standards.
Other duties as assigned
Patient Safety Attendants Requirements:
Proof of high school diploma, GED or some college education required
Attentive, strong listener and communicator
Ability and eagerness to take care of others
Must be able to pass background check and drug screen
Ability to handle emotionally distressing situations.
Ability to act calmly and swiftly under pressure.
Ability to sit/stand/walk for extended periods of time.
