ManpowerGroup Process Systems Engineer in Houston, Texas

Our client, an Industrial Gas Producer, is seeking a Process Systems Engineer to join their team. As a Process Systems Engineer, you will be part of the Process Systems Design Group supporting the Process Gas Product Line. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Air Separation, proficiency in SmartPlant, and a strong background in Hydrogen/Blue Hydrogen, aligning successfully with the organization's goals.

Location: Houston, Texas

Pay Range: $130,000-175,000 per year

What’s the Job?

Job Responsibilities

  1. Engineering Support and Compliance:

  2. Deliver all objectives safely, ensuring 100% compliance with safety requirements.

  3. Proposal and Project Support:

  4. Develop P&IDs for new projects and opportunities, adhering to company standards and customer requirements.

  5. Develop functional logic tables, shutdown tables, alarm settings, and safety system parameters.

  6. Collaborative Design and Review:

  7. Work collaboratively with process engineers, controls engineers, safety engineers, and project managers to align engineering and design during proposal or project development.

  8. Lead and contribute to operability, hazard reviews, and safety evaluations.

  9. Process Optimization and Documentation:

  10. Develop P&IDs Functional Execution Strategy.

  11. Develop process systems man-hour estimates for projects.

  12. Develop generic P&IDs to support product development efforts.

  13. Project Coordination and Commissioning:

  14. Lead the review of the 3D piping model and facility arrangement.

  15. Participate in DCS Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test.

  16. Plan and participate in field commissioning activities and operational readiness inspections.

What’s Needed?

  1. Education and Experience:

  2. Bachelor’s degree or higher in chemical engineering or equivalent.

  3. Minimum 10 years of work experience with a focus on P&ID development in industrial gas or EPC firms.

  4. Multi-Discipline Understanding:

  5. Balanced multi-discipline understanding in Process System Engineering or plant process engineering.

  6. Decision-Making Skills:

  7. Proven ability to make balanced decisions weighing operability, reliability, capital costs, and operational costs.

  8. Industry Knowledge:

  9. Experience with SMR, ATR, Ammonia, and methanol synthesis processes is a plus.

  10. Knowledge of Green and Blue Hydrogen technology areas is a strong plus.

  11. Software Proficiency:

  12. Use of tools such as Bluebeam, Smart Plant PID, Smart Plant 3D Review, and Adobe is a plus.
