ManpowerGroup Lead Electrical Designer in Houston, Texas

Our Key client in the Production of Gases and Chemicals Industry is seeking Lead Electrical Designers to join their team. This team is part of the large GEMTE Global Design & Engineering organization supporting North American & Global workload. The Engineering designs cover a wide range and sizes of industrial type applications; Air Separation Units (ASU), Hydrogen Processing Units, LNG facilities, Gasification, and Technology improvements.

Job Title: Lead Electrical Designer

Location: Allentown, PA or Houston, TX

Pay: $95,000-$135,000.

Sign-Bonus: $5,000-$10,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct diverse electrical design teams located in the US, China, and India.

  • Create S3D models for cable tray layouts, underground conduit systems, grounding systems, lighting layouts, junction box locations, electrical building layouts, and receptacle/control station layouts.

  • Complete and/or review detailed design drawings for electrical distribution and control systems.

  • Create and/or review Electrical drawings for site construction activities.

  • Review vendor submittals and equipment reference drawings.

  • Check drawings for accuracy and format.

  • Attend project & group meetings.

  • Interface with other Design teams – Civil/Structural, Piping, Stress Analysis, Mechanical & Machinery, etc.

  • The job may require occasional travel to domestic sites and other international engineering centers.

Requirements:

  • Associated Degree in Computer Aided Design or Drafting

  • Experience in modeling & creating design drawings using software tools such as AutoCAD, S3D, Frameworks, MicroStation, Solidworks, or other 3D software.

  • US citizen or Greencard

  • Able to be in office 3d per week.

  • Minimum 12 plus years of CAD experience in modeling & creating design drawings using software tools such as AutoCAD, S3D, Frameworks, MicroStation, Solidworks, or other 3D software.

  • Experience with Smart 3D and SmartSketch is a plus.

  • Willingness to learn new CAD software tools, such as S3D and SmartSketch.

  • Create and populate 2D drawings from 3D models.

  • Must show attention to detail and possess the ability to work independently over time.

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft office software, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
