Job Overview

The successful candidate will have a working knowledge of Greenhouse Gas Emission Inventory methods, be an experienced lead verifier under multiple schemes (WRI GHG Protocol, The Climate Registry, etc.), and have broad industry experience base, including oil and gas, marine, the electric power sector, and the hospitality industry, among others.

Job Responsibilities

A lead verifier manages verification projects successfully from the kick-off meeting through the delivery of the final report and statement. He/ She interacts with the client directly, clearly communicating data and information requests and findings. He/ She is responsible for upholding standards and ensuring the client is meeting the requirements of the specific reporting criteria for which they are seeking verification.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading verifications for a variety of clients with facilities world-wide. This role will involve travel, mainly within the United States but occasionally abroad.

Job Requirements

The requirements of this position are:

  1. Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of relevant greenhouse gas emissions and sustainability data reporting schemes and sources,

  2. Excellent communication and IT skills with a high standard of personal and professional presentation,

  3. Knowledge of Microsoft Excel is necessary,

  4. Presence and credibility to represent authoritatively at the most senior levels across the industry,

  5. Reside in the US within easy reach of major commuting routes,

  6. B.S. in Engineering, Environmental Science, or related field, and

  7. At least 3 years of experience supporting GHG and GHG verification projects.
