Job Title: Auditor
Location: Hybrid in Houston, TX – Onsite 3 days/week (flexible on days), 2 days remote
Salary Range: $70,000 – 95,000 annually, depending on experience, plus a bonus program
Jefferson Wells is seeking an Auditor for one of our clients in Houston, TX. This is a full-time, hybrid position with 3 flexible days in the office. The Auditor is responsible for planning, organizing, and conducting financial and operational audits, ensuring adherence to policies and controls, and promoting best practices across departments. Key duties include developing relationships with audit clients, identifying audit areas, and understanding business unit processes. The role involves creating and documenting audit programs, conducting tests, and utilizing data analytics to collect evidence. Auditors must document their work clearly, meet deadlines, and participate in reviews for new processes and systems. They are also responsible for ensuring risks are properly identified and ranked in the Risk and Control Matrix, with audits appropriately scoped to include relevant risks and controls. Additionally, auditors must document test results, support their conclusions, and present observations to clients before final meetings.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance from an accredited college/university
2+ years of financial and operational auditing experience
CPA, CIA, CFE a plus
Highly analytical and detail oriented with strong interpersonal and communication skills
Must be able to work onsite on a hybrid basis in Houston, as well as travel 5-15% annually
