ManpowerGroup Assembly Specialist in Houston, Texas

Job Posting: Assembly Specialist

Schedule: Monday-Friday, 6:00 AM - 4:00 PM

Pay Rate: $26/hour

Description:

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Assembly of Rotating Equipment Manufacturing

  • Expertise in Siemens Energy Turbomachinery rotating equipment assembly preferred, specifically SGT 100-400 and A-35/A-65 Siemens-Energy Gas Turbine and compressor packaging, RF and Datum range of turbo-compressors

  • Development and interpretation of technical assembly instructions, build methods, and sequencing of core compressor internals and auxiliaries

  • Inspect, repair, replace, install, and maintain mechanical components and assemblies on gas turbines and compressor packages

  • Collaborate with Engineering, Quality Control, Material Control, and other crafts in production

  • Adhere to all EHS (Environment, Health, and Safety) standards

  • Layout mechanical tubing and utilize appropriate tools

  • Inspect, repair, replace, install, and maintain mechanical and electrical components and assemblies on turbines and associated packages

  • Mandatory COVID-19 vaccination requirement unless medically or religiously exempted

Responsibilities:

  • Follow all safety procedures and policies while performing work

  • Layout mechanical tubing and utilize appropriate tools

  • Operate tubing benders to fabricate lines for oil, gas, and fuel systems in turbine packages

  • Work with various types and grades of pipes, tubing, and structural materials

  • Interpret complex assembly instructions, specifications, schematics, and blueprints

  • Read P&ID drawings

  • Inventory, clean, and visually inspect components; stage equipment for assembly

  • Assist fitters and electricians in assembling and testing turbines and associated equipment

  • Perform or assist in full load testing of gas turbines

  • Understand turbine workings, controls, and associated equipment

  • Perform measurements and adjustments to ensure correct tolerances; record measurements

  • Report issues and deviations to management/engineering

  • Perform maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs as required

  • Collaborate with management/engineering to refine assembly best practices

  • Train less experienced Assembly Technicians

  • Use micrometers, indicators, hand tools, air grinders, and overhead lifting devices

  • Make part adjustments using machining techniques

  • Assist and cross train for test and packaging departments as needed

  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area

  • Complete all assigned duties as necessary

  • Enforce and practice all company work instructions and quality control system programs
