Manpower Group Manufacturing / Test Engineer in Hanover, Pennsylvania
Our client, a successful manufacturing facility in Hanover PA, has a direct hire opportunity for a Manufacturing / Test Engineer. The primary responsibility of this position is to deliver fully documented processes to production, by specifying, designing and ordering machinery and tooling. Incumbent will be responsible for evaluating new manufacturing designs that will result in substantial improvements in cost and quality. The individual must be able to work under minimal supervision and interact with commercial customers as well as various internal departments.
Summary: * Manage major company projects from concept to production, meeting target dates and cost *Assist Product Development in design of new products with respect to manufacturability *Verify design feasibility and estimate the cost of engineering changes on tools *Ensure conformance to required standards and time schedules *Advise the Purchasing Department in the preparation of materials used and suppliers acquired *Optimize machining and/or assembly of a part(s) by writing routings and specifying tools/processes *Research and analyze layout and design of machinery/tools, ensuring economic feasibility
Qualifications: * Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience * Ability to evaluate the design of parts, components, assemblies to determine the most economical systems, processes and methods of manufacture, including the proper tools, equipment and facilities * Knowledge of machinery and automation * Knowledge of manufacturing and the lean tools to be used to improve processes * Ability to work and/or lead within a team environment with cross-functional participants * Ability to make decisions independently, based on overall objectives * Ability to make and communicate intelligent recommendations to superiors * Ability to communicate with all levels of management * Knowledge of the MS Office Suite * Knowledge of Computer Aided Design/Drafting, preferably Creo. * Knowledge of PLC programming and communication protocols between equipment. * Lab View programming & SAP knowledge a plus. * Experience with final functional test of products * Understanding of hydraulic, magnetic, & valve balance
