ManpowerGroup Production Superintendent in Dickson, Tennessee

Our client, a leading food manufacturing company is seeking a Production Superintendent to join their team.

Job Title: Production Superintendent

Overview: The Production Superintendent oversees nightly operations in production, maintenance, quality, and sanitation to achieve safety, quality, and efficiency goals. This role ensures the smooth operation of the production departments through direct leadership and coordination with subordinate teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Execution: Implement plant-specific vision and mission to drive continuous improvement and align with the company’s overall vision for the production department.

  • Leadership: Supervise and guide production supervisors during night shifts, ensuring they fulfill their roles effectively.

  • Employee Development: Foster a culture of employee engagement, training, and development to achieve goals in manufacturing, quality, safety, and productivity.

  • Communication: Communicate results and action plans clearly to employees and managers.

  • Temporary Coverage: Act as the production manager during short-term absences and cover night shift supervisor vacancies as needed.

  • Collaboration: Work with production planning and materials management to optimize schedule attainment and customer service.

  • Human Resources: Partner with HR to address and resolve employee issues and concerns.

  • Cost Management: Implement cost-saving measures related to staffing, standards, and yields.

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure all plant operations are conducted in a safe and controlled environment.

  • Quality Assurance: Maintain or exceed all quality and regulatory standards, specifications, and policies.

  • R&D Collaboration: Collaborate with R&D on product development and plant trials.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in Food Manufacturing.

  • Strong analytical skills for problem-solving and decision-making.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Strong social skills and etiquette for dining, travel, and meetings.

  • Basic mathematical and statistical skills.
