DBA Support Engineer

18 month contract

Dallas, TX, Charlotte, NC or Redmond, WA - must be onsite

$30-$32/hour

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Support Excellence: Provide top-notch technical assistance to users, resolving issues via phone, remote sessions, or in person.

  • Problem Solving: Own, troubleshoot, and resolve customer technical issues, collaborating across teams to ensure transparency and effective solutions.

  • Escalation Management: Identify and escalate complex or strategic cases as needed.

  • Incident Management: Create and maintain incident management requests for product or engineering teams.

  • Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to knowledge sharing initiatives, providing technical coaching and mentoring to peers.

  • Community Building: Lead or participate in building communities within and outside of the team, focusing on specific workloads or specialties.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years interacting with customers/end-users in support roles such as customer support, product support, technical support, IT admin support, consulting, or software engineering.

  • Technical Skills:

  • Proficient in Azure Data Factory and Azure Datawarehouse/Azure Synapse.

  • Experience with Big Data or Analytics products such as Hadoop, Spark, Hive, Azure HDInsight, Azure Databricks, Azure Cosmos DB, NoSQL services, Data Lake, and Delta Lake.

  • Familiarity with the Open Source Ecosystem (Linux, Apache, etc.).

  • Programming and debugging experience with languages like Python, Scala, or R is desirable.

  • Experience with RDBMS such as Microsoft SQL Server and BI technologies (SSAS, SSIS).

  • Soft Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, listening, and written).

  • Strong customer service and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Adaptability and flexibility under pressure and tight deadlines.

  • Passion for technology and continuous learning.
