The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Optimization Researcher to join our team and play a crucial role in developing and implementing optimization models to solve complex business problems. You will leverage your expertise in mathematical programming, heuristic methods, and data science techniques to create innovative solutions that drive efficiency and improve decision-making across the organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement mixed-integer programming models to tackle large-scale optimization problems.

  • Design and implement heuristic algorithms to efficiently identify high-quality solutions.

  • Develop methods to utilize existing solutions and problem structure to minimize search time and enhance solution quality.

  • Analyze extensive business documents to extract key requirements and formulate optimization problems.

  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to pinpoint business opportunities and develop data-driven solutions.

  • Conduct research on emerging trends and technologies in optimization and data science.

  • Present findings and recommendations clearly and concisely to stakeholders and executive management.

Requirements:

  • Master of Science (MSc) or Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, or Industrial Engineering.

  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in industrial work or enterprise-grade consulting.

  • Strong programming proficiency in Python and experience with Mixed-Integer Programming (MIP) tools like Gurobi, CPLEX, and SCIP.

  • Experience with data science techniques including machine learning, statistical analysis, and data visualization.

  • Familiarity with data engineering tools such as Apache Spark and SQL.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, with a portfolio of publications a plus.
