Material Support Associate

• 2 to 3 month assignment

• M-W 6:30am to 6:30pm & Th 6:30am to 12:30pm

What will you be doing?

• Packing

1. Accurately identify material called out in MO

2. Determine the correct packing method for best delivery of product according to customer specifications

3. Monitor and make correct process changes for packing the product or changing rates

4. Ability to correctly label, wand and count parts

5. Pack product per ship dates

6. Pick and transfer material

7. Verify all information on MO is correct and that the order is complete

8. Ability to make changes if incorrect

• Trailer loading

1. Effectively load trailers in a safe and efficient manner

2. Operate cranes in a safe and efficient manner

3. Ability to operate the tractor trailer

4. Performs preventative maintenance inspections on tractor trailer

• Material Handling

1. Ability to accurately weigh and dump scrap bins

2. Receive in billets and accurately enter information in computer system

3. Move baskets from the return line

4. Perform preventative maintenance on the cranes

5. Monitor the presses for adequate supply of baskets and spacers

• Aging

1. Ability to stage material according to alloy and temperature

2. Complete understanding of the age cycle and the effect it has on the material

3. Perform inspection of load prior to entering aging oven

4. Ability to check hardness and do mechanical certifications

5. Distribute material to proper work centers

6. Document all information needed in the correct places

• Press Support

1. Provide press support as needed

2. Ability to run log saw and cometal saw effectively

3. Understanding of how press operation works

4. Check samples using both the Smart scope and RF systems

• Understands the performance measures of the department and company

• Keeps work area clean and orderly using 6S system

• All other duties as assigned

What are the qualifications?

• Education and Experience:

High school or Alternative diploma. Manufacturing knowledge helpful.

• Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Blueprint reading helpful

Knowledge of using calipers, etc.

Be willing to take additional training

Teamwork is essential to the Packaging area
